eBIZ.mobility LTD announces that the Office of the Chief Scientist of the State of Israel Ministry of Industry and Trade has awarded the company a Research and Development grant for its M-Commerce Roaming Mediation Gateway™. This grant is intended to fund the development of the core data extraction and encapsulation engine and its related patent filings.

The core data extraction and encapsulation engine will revolutionize the industry for M-Commerce and Value Added Services by enabling seamless roaming for end users to perform transactions and obtain their broadband data services across international boundaries via mobile telephone networks that employ different network, service, billing, and payment systems.

With 1.17 Billion mobile phone subscribers worldwide as of February 2003, according to the GSM Association, 400 Million of whom are served by GSM networks in Western Europe alone, it is no wonder that Mobile Communications International Magazine, March 2003 quotes Tower Group projections of 1 Billion macropayment transactions (ticketing, remote internet, purchases) and 25 Billion micropayment transactions (Multimedia Messaging Services, digital content, gaming, Music MP3 downloads, parking meters) by Year 2007 to be conducted via mobile phones.
